Sitting on the back porch, listening to the waterfall, the expansive vista is too much to process, so it just sort of soaks in, and everything else seems to vanish. Nature is the most alive person I know - ecstatic highs, depressive lows, spontaneous joy, deep silence, bounding song. Throughout each day Nature’s moods change, like sections of one great symphony.
Yesterday was an unusually warm day for the end of November. I opened the windows and inside again felt like outside. Sun was out most of the day, and it was generally a boisterous sort of joyful day. Then around 2 pm, I found myself blurting out in joy some spontaneously made-up sort - as if Nature’s crescendoing joy reached its crest, then, just as suddenly, fell back into a peaceful harmony.
Like a child, Nature enticed me to join in Her play - to participate in Her symphony of life - and I am better for it.
Happy Tofu-Turkey Day
