Mary, Mary,
quite contrary,
how does your garden grow?
tomatoes on the left coming in tall
(broccoli & carrots to the left...cant see...)
behind the strings are peas
cute cukes!
Corn, zuchini, yellow summer squash, pole beans
butternut squash (3) and marigold (between two squashes.
The butternuts are from seeds I saved from eating local butternut squash grown by local farmers! Very rewarding to see the seed-saving recycling/free - local food thing going on.
View from the porch
Well, the view from the back porch is quite a bit different; the railing is now up.
stairs up/down
you wont fall over (the side) - though you may fall through
currently scraping paint; then I’ll try an eco-remedy - applying white distilled vinegar as a natural paint remover.
Then applying eco-wood preservatives (zinc oxide) & anti-termite (borax) to the wood (and the new decking to replace the missing strips), then possibly paint, and then waterproof (maybe using linseed oil).
view of the mystery garden (with St. John’s Wort and Echinacea), and beyond the trees is my neighbor’s pond - full of bullfrogs ribbit-ing all night.
mirror view - same direction from front porch looking out at the distant mountain top and sky
Termite Update
and speaking of termintes and front porches
If you remember the ‘before’ pic (see Independence Day blog), here is the ‘after’ pic. After 3 days of borax solution and a few days to dry - so far there are no wood dust hills. Another few days and I’ll seal it with linseed oil (eco-friendly version).
God does make little green apples!
fallen from the apple tree...
It’s peaceful, pastoral paradise these days.
Hope you enjoying your summer as well.
